John Garcia’s secret to passing the ECE Board Exam

John Carlo Garcia’s name was listed among the 2326 examinees who had passed the Electronics Engineer (ECE) Board exam which took place last October 20 and 21, 2018. The sacrifice of his parents, Marcelito and Carina, had finally produced the highly anticipated reward of having a son who had passed a crucial and life-changing examination.

His sister, Roxanne, was definitely thrilled. “Upon hearing the good news, my sister was so happy about it that she managed to make a Facebook post in order to let our friends and relatives know about the results even before telling me.”

John greatly looks up to his father, Marcelito, who had also pursued a course in Practical Electricity. In order to follow in his footsteps, he ventured into the world of Engineering by studying at NU-Asia Pacific College.

He describes his academic journey as a challenging yet fulfilling one. “I have experienced having mental fatigue after studying for five years, and then having to do it again for six months.” Despite the roadblocks, he candidly shares his secret to surmounting the obstacles that every student faces. “Take a break, play a few video games or watch a movie; do this regularly to avoid the effects of having mental and physical fatigue, but never make that an excuse to slack off from studying.” He explains that the key to victory is to live a well-balanced life.

“NU-Asia Pacific College’s review program actually helped me immensely because it requires us to complete an entire semester at a partner review center, and even attend another semester for free after we graduate,” he said. In spite of the pressure, he remained relaxed during the examination period because the school had prepared him well for this moment.

John dreams of holding a managerial position someday. “I have always been somebody who strives to get the job done, no matter what the circumstances are.” He advises aspiring Engineers to be as tenacious as he is in order for them to reach for their dreams as well.
